Went to the lighted driving range here in Quincy, MA and actually had to wait for a spot to open up. Golf is an intriguing game but not because I still have issues with my slice. It’s intriguing because of the evolution it has taken. What was once a rich man’s sport has become a family game. The reason that I had to wait to get onto the driving range is that there was a family golf camp taking place. Moms, dads and kids! Interesting idea. I think it’s an important game to learn for everyone. As a business person I have learned more about myself during the years I have been golfing then I have the game itself. I’ve learned accuracy comes only when relaxed, ‘luck’ comes when least expected. I’ve learned that by making a mistake in my swing by a fraction of an inch can result in 50 yards or more from where I wanted to be. These lessons and the many more I will collect as I continue to play will also help me with my business. Maybe the lessons are why so many deals are made on the course. There couldn’t be a better time to focus.
